What is Premiere Partner good for?

    koko Active Contributor

If it was to see the reviews before committing or have the persons phone or email, then I just had a fata morgana inquiry.

It states clearly I can only see that when booked and "partners are recommending" a person - who are the partners?

I just got my first FlipKey booking of the year and was reminded why I don't promote my listing there.  No payment until day of check-in and no guest contact details until full payment is made by guest.

          Same as ABB.

Seems like Vrbo/HA is determined to get on the same side of the ship as all the other OTRs rather than use PP and other benefits as a competitive advantage.  My personal website's booking link brings people to my listing on Vrbo.  Why?  Because Vrbo is MY premier partner.  If they keep re-inventing themselves to emulate BDC, ABB, and FK, then I will remove my link back to them and send renters to Houfy.

Someone on Team Vrbo should be asking themselves what the impact of these changes will be long-term.  Because they will show up eventually.  Even if only to make owners like myself treat all platforms with equal ambivalence.

"My personal website's booking link brings people to my listing on Vrbo."

Why? because you like to give them money that they did not earn by directing YOUR leads to them? I am sorry I fail to comprehend the usefulness of it. Direct leads book direct. OTA does not even need to be in picture. You are "feeding the beast". JMO

                  Very good and fair question.

In the beginning it was for simplicity.  I set up my website long before setting up my RA and ability to collect $.  At the time, Vrbo was filling my calendar without me having to do much so it wasn't a question of linking to an OTR as much as which OTR to link to. Vrbo was the easy choice.

Fast forward to today, I have a digitally signable RA and a Paypal/Venmo account...

So my official answer is: I've been lazy

Oh, bonesxxx - say it isn't so!    A guest finds your vacation rental through your website and you make them book through Vrbo and pay Vrbo's service fee?  I'm shaking my head.  As much as I enjoy your posts in the Community - stop!  (But only temporarily.)  Instead of spending your time posting here, spend some time and edit your website.  Have people contact you directly to book.  Have the contact link go to your email.  Do it now!

LoL thanks    I’ve already changed it to Houfy for now. At least there are no fees. Once I figure out how to do it I’ll change it to my email or PayPal account.

Thanks for lighting a fire under my butt. (In my defense, between Vrbo and ABB I stay booked more than I want so my personal website hasn’t been a high priority but that’s gonna change. My departing guest today said I was waaay underpriced for what they got... which might explain why I’m staying booked so well). Living and learning every day I am.

                            You‘re the best wildiris

Pretty sure "partners" are the sites that display Vrbo listings without actually being Vrbo.  Those places get some kind of compensation for referring bookings back to Vrbo.

We don't get to control that any more it seems, can't find the link to control the search distribution network that used to be out there under the property settings.

And to your headline question: PP just recognizes that you book a certain number of happy guests each quarter/year and your reward is that you get to see an inquiry's phone/email info.  Used to have special better-trained CS, but that went by the wayside pretty quickly.
