Hello hickmanhideaway, the InsideMaps equipment that comes with the DIY option is actually complimentary and yours to keep. You can capture and upload as many tours as you feel are necessary within the first six (6) months starting when you receive the equipment and the one-off processing fee will be paid by Vrbo/HomeAway.
First off, thanks for the IM opportunity.
Is there someone we can contact for technical assistance with the IM program?
I am able to snip out photos, and it generates a very accurate floor plan. But all of these are watermarked so blatantly that they are practically unusable/unreadable, particularly the floor plan. The photo is less problematic, but looks super tacky. Is that how it is intended to be? I posted pics for your reference.
hickmanhideaway, I shot 2 this weekend -- the only 2 I could grab between back to back guests. They aren't perfect but for a first go, I feel ok about them. The single story is better, I think. For future attempts I'm going to have to figure out how to make the stairwell transitions more seamless on our 3-story townhouse.
You should plan an hour to shoot a single story, more for multiple floors (regardless of sq footage the stairs create issues).
Additional time is needed for setting up/staging. I felt like I had set things up, but in retrospect there are things I wish I had changed.
Once you complete and upload, it usually took about 3-5 hours for the project to be viewable. Be aware, though, that it won't upload in the background. You have to be active in the app for it to upload. Also, make sure to turn up your ringer as you shoot the locations. It will make audible sounds if your ringer is turned up to cue when it is photographing and when it finishes. (learned that the hard way.)
Happy to chat here or via message if you have questions.
