FAQs and details on Vrbo's payment platform

Thank you for your patience and feedback.

Given Yapstone’s announcement, we are encouraging partners to move to our payment platform. It is our goal to move all partners to the Vrbo payment platform as quickly as possible.

If the email you received included the text below, we have new information for you:

Email: “Our early payout program is in testing with thousands of owners and property managers. Eligible partners should expect an invite within 45 days. Start your upgrade now to be considered for the program.”

Update: The wait is over, your account can be migrated now and enrolled into Vrbo’s new early payout program. After you follow the steps outlined below, you’re in the early payout program, and Vrbo’s payment platform will disburse funds for your future bookings.

If the email you received included the following text, here’s some important information for you:

Email: “Our early payout program is in testing with thousands of owners and property managers. Eligible partners should expect an invite within 90 days. Start your upgrade now to be considered for the program.”

Update: We are ready to migrate you to the Vrbo platform. However, our early payout program is not ready for your account yet. You are eligible for our early payout program, and we expect to invite you into the program within 90 days. Until then, payments will be disbursed to you after a guest checks-in.

If you are not ready to migrate, please do not accept the terms and conditions at this time. Although we strongly recommend all partners move to Vrbo, you still have the option to apply for Yapstone’s fee-based advanced payment program.

Again, we recommend you move to the Vrbo platform where we plan to enroll you into the early payout program within 90 days.

If the email you received included the following text, here’s some important information for you:

Email: “We’re also working to finish our early payout program for eligible partners who move to our platform. We will notify you if you become eligible for early payouts.”

Update:  At this time, you are not eligible for the early payment program. Given Yapstone’s announcement, we are encouraging you to move to Vrbo’s payment platform as soon as possible. When you migrate to our payment platform, payments will be disbursed to you shortly after a guest checks-in. We will continue to evaluate eligibility for the early payment program based on factors such as booking volume and cancellation rates.

    How does the migration work?

We appreciate your patience on this. This wasn’t our original plan so we’ve been clarifying and simplifying the migration experience. When you’re ready to migrate:

    1. Accept the terms and conditions: Once you accept the terms and conditions, your account will be migrated within 3 days and you will receive a confirmation email asking you to add your bank account. If you’ve already accepted the terms, expect an email soon.
    2. Add your bank account(s).
    3. Complete tax forms, if required. Many of you will be required to complete an IRS W-8 or W-9. ‘

Who is paying me for my reservations, Vrbo or Yapstone?

If you haven’t received an email asking you to add your bank account, Yapstone is still processing your payments. Here’s how you know which platform is processing and disbursing your payments:

    • If you have not accepted Vrbo’s payment terms and conditions: Yapstone
    • Payments for bookings made after you’ve accepted Vrbo’s terms and conditions, but you have not been prompted to add your bank account yet: Yapstone
    • Payments for bookings made after you’ve accepted Vrbo’s terms and conditions and you’ve been prompted to add your bank account: Vrbo
    • Second or third payments from bookings made prior to migrating to Vrbo’s payment platform: Yapstone

If you have questions regarding existing bookings with future payments, please contact Yapstone directly or read their FAQs here

What happens to my additional payments for bookings initially processed through Yapstone? When are they paid out?

Please refer to Yapstone’s FAQ. For any additional questions or feedback, please contact Yapstone directly.

I haven’t received an email from Yapstone, what does that mean?

Please contact Yapstone directly. We are hearing that they are continuously notifying partners.

How does eligibility for early payouts work?

Behaviors and history within the marketplace, such as booking volume and cancellation rates, determine eligibility for the early payout program. Continuing eligibility and participation in the program will be evaluated regularly.

What does “the return of accommodation fees” mean in the terms and conditions?

If something severe is reported or a chargeback happens, funds may need to be reverted to the traveler. Vrbo doesn't want this to happen and expects for this to be a rare occurrence.

We appreciate your patience as we quickly work through this change together.
