Hey Everybody!
Not sure where to post this, so I'm just gonna go for it. Wanted to let all of the VRBO / HA staff know how much we ejoyed the summit this year. All of the staff were so energetic, positive, supportive, good-natured, and responsive. And it was a huge effort to host such an informative, fun event, and both my husband and I are very glad that we attended, and very grateful to be a part of the community. It definitely strengthened our ties to VRBO/HA. Thank you, thank you HA/VRBO. If anyone else has feedback to add, please feel free to do so!
On behalf of our entire Summit team, thank you for letting us know - we always appreciate hearing how things went, and are certainly glad to have all of our owners come and see us each year!
I'm glad to hear your positive feedback on HA/VRBO staff. Could you share some of their responses/solutions to the many owners' concerns/issues that have been posted here over the past year?
It would be great for those of us unable to attend these if HA/VRBO would provide an overview of topics and the related discusssions that took place. ( and eventually, the outcome of Owners input)
Debj
Hi Debj-
Actually, the agenda was/is posted before/after the summit, and video taken of sessions in 2011 and in 2012 are/will be posted online.
Also wanted to add that many of the powerpoint decks from the HA presentations are already online under the Summit section.
Debj- I didn't attend the roundtable Q&A sessions, as there was a specific presentation I wanted to attend during that timeframe. But during the sessions I did attend, homeowners and property managers brought up questions and I found the VRBO/HA staff to be responsive and always accountable, encouraging all of us to contact them directly, and if they didn't have an answer for us right away, they found someone or got an answer on the spot. The presentations were well organized, informative, personable, and entertaining. We both went so that we could split up and attend as many sessions as possible.
OveralI, can tell you that the attendees, as well as the staff/management, are boggled by the velocity and the magnitude of change in this business as a whole. There were so many investors, managers, AND owners in attendance who are doing everything they can just to keep up with the pace of their own imaginations for where this business can go. It's so much bigger than HA and VRBO, and everyone is giving it 100%, knowing that's what it will take to grow their business and to stay current. Anyone who is stuck will get left behind. That was my take on the whole experience. As someone who is listed with multiple agencies, I do still find that VRBO/HA is one of the most professionally-run agencies, with the most legacy/experience, and I want to be a part of that, and I want to celebrate/encourage their efforts to change alongside the business. Prior to the summit, my feeling was that VRBO wasn't changing FAST ENOUGH. But having been there, I see all that they are trying to do, and I feel better than I did before.
