In my judgement, unsupported public testimony by pm's about how much tax is being lost by dishonest property owners is unethical. Iftheir organization has a code of ethics, these pms deserve a public reprimand and perhaps expulsion from their governing body.
We need to actively and publicly identify the unethical behavior of those that have pursued ther selfish vested intersts without regard to the economic impact on the Hawaiian economy, jobs of local people, the US constitution and NAFTA.
Sorry, I hadn’t seen the latest rendition of the bill. It looks like they realize they need to get the tax dept functional before they do anything else.
Not quite sure how it passes with no votes at all in the house:
| 5/1/2012 | S | Passed Final Reading, as amended (CD 1). 23 Aye(s); Aye(s) with reservations: none . 2 No(es): Senator(s) Ryan, Slom. 0 Excused: none. |
| 5/1/2012 | H | Passed Final Reading as amended in CD 1 with none voting aye with reservations; none voting no (0) and none excused (0). |
House doesn't say how many "Ayes". They just say the others and it appears no one had any issues. Odd how the house and Senate do things slightly differently.
Am I to understand that the new law has been passed? So where can one find the final text of the new law?

Please do not trust ANYTHING Baker says. If it came out of her mouth then it is either a lie or corrupt. Always check with someone else. From experience...

If any politician lies, provides mis-information or does anything unethical, please document it and report it to RBOAA. The same applies to property managers and hotels. Lets gather facts and not resort to unsubstantiated accusations, which is the tactic that the pms used to accuse us of cheating HI out of taxes.

Will the registration number be a new number or the tax ID number we already have?
AFAIK, it's just our tax ID number.

How will the state of Hawaii let all homeowners know of the new law or is it up to us to know the law?
I doubt that they are going to tell anybody... by not telling folks, then more people will be out of compliance, and they'll have ammunition next year to use against us when they try to force PM's on us.
