We had a fantastic there and fell in love with the breathtaking scenery, especially the mountains.
The desert was a completely different experience than the craziness of Marrakech (which we also really enjoyed).
Esp. in Marrakech, we felt that the majority locals saw us mainly as a source of money and tips, and that was rather unsettling.
We met a number of european tourists at the end of our trip who were hesitant to return to Morocco for that reason.
My husband and I had read up beforehand so were quite prepared for the experience, although it was still a little surprising to us that it would necessary to have our guard up so much of the time.
However, the 4-day tour arranged by Your Morocco Tour www.your-morocco-tour.com was a piece of cake due to the excellent service and care we received.
Mohammed and Abdul Latif (not sure how to spell their names) were both very kind, respectful and helpful.
Mohammed was extremely informative, spoke excellent english and answered our million questions with utmost patience.
The driver took care to drive safely and we definitely felt that our safety was a priority.
They definitely took care of us and made sure that everything went without a hitch.
We felt very bad that they had to show us around all day without being able to drink/eat as it was during the Ramadan though they were very nice about it.
We were also very pleased with the vehicle and with our accommodations. We really could not have asked for better.
Check in/out was a breeze as the guide just took care of everything. We were so spoiled!
There were really no negatives in our experience, but if we could have made some changes perhaps we would have preferred a more rustic desert camp. Hotel Tombuctou was wonderful but their desert camp was extremely built up and we both arrived and left when it was dark (to beat the heat, i'm sure). Perhaps next time we will do a multi-day desert trek instead as we are quite okay with the heat. Also, everything was rather quiet during Ramadan and towards the end of the trip Mohammed seemed pretty low on energy (understandably so) when we had super long drives (e.g., Merzouga to Skoura). One day we might go back to see what the country is like when everything is in full swing!
Anyhow, we were impressed an thankful to Jana for helping to arrange everything for us in advance.
We were very impressed with the service we received and would not hesitate to recommend YMT to others.
We also appreciate them being flexible with the payment methods for our convenience. I
Thank you once again for planning a great trip for us Your Morocco Tour
