feature outdoor amenities in your vacation rental adYou've heard it time and time again: travelers are more likely to inquire about a property with more photos. The fact is, travelers do not want any surprises— they want to know exactly what they are getting before they pay for it.

However, you may find it difficult to find 16-24 photos that you would like to display, especially if you have a small property.

To help you make the most of your listings, we have put together some suggestions for adding additional photos.

Start with the must-have photos that most travelers are looking for:

  • The view
  • The living area
  • The exterior of your home or building
  • The kitchen
  • The master bedroom
  • Each guest bedroom
  • Outdoor amenities, like a pool or hot tub

Also consider including photos of:

  • The same rooms as above, but taken from different angles
  • Any other distinctive view shots from your home (front, rear, balcony, bedroom window, etc.)
  • The exterior of both the front and rear of your home or building
  • Unusual or unexpected amenities included with the home like HDTV, pool table, or beach chairs
  • Unique aspects of your home like a fancy espresso machine, architectural details, special artwork or plush towels
  • The amenities in your building (fitness centers, restaurants, etc.)
  • Seasonal or day and evening photos of the same shots
  • Tourist attractions in your vacation destination

Example Photos:

Photos of rooms from different angles:

include a photo of your living area on your vacation rental listing photos of the living area should show enough seating for the maximum occupancy at your vacation rental
kitchens are one of the main reasons a traveler will choose a vacation rental over a hotel the dining area at your vacation home should have enough chairs for your maximum occupancy

Photos of distinctive views:

stage the scene of view photos from your vacation home with place settings or flowers include a photo of the view taken from your vacation rental

Photos of each bedroom:

master bedrooms of vacation homes should have a queen bed or larger include a photo of all bedrooms at your vacation rental

Photos of the exterior & outdoor amenities:

the exterior of your vacation home gives travelers an idea of the overall upkeep show proximity to main local attraction in your vacation rental listing
showcase evening shots in your vacation rental property listing

Photos of nearby attractions:

Remember: even if you're struggling to come up with 16 photos, it doesn't mean that you should include a photo of every aspect of your home.  For example, you don't need to include a photo of only the toilet. You'd be surprised how many homeowners do!  Just consider the aspects of your home and area that would be of interest to guests, and you should be able to come up with plenty of additional photo-ops.
