Owners should have final review rights over guest comments BEFORE publication.

Neither Homeaway or Vrbo are independant consumer reporting agencies.

We, as owners, pay their salaries. Not the guests which we serve, who pay nothing to Vrbo or Homeaway.

A member since 2006, Vrbo's policies allowed review and rejection of guest comments by the owner prior to publication.

Homeaway changed that policy.

Is the ability to book a renter online a huge advantage?

We are from Canada, our property is in the US but because we do not live in the US we do not have the option to book customers or accept payments online though HA & VRBO. However, it seems to me that this may be creating a HUGE advantage for a resident of the US who can accept a contract and payment online. Our booking results are dropping like a stone!

I had fantastic success with our listing on VRBO and HA in 2011 and the first half of 2012 and things seem to be falling off of a cliff. Dispite fantastic reviews for our listing, we are now experiencing holes in our calendar for the first time!

Generally speaking is your traffic up or down these past few months compared to the previous year?

This poll is designed to show the company a reflection of how its clients, the "owners" feel about the new system which has been recently launched in the UK. Perhaps, if enough people vote one way or the other, the results will prompt the company to listen to those who are bankrolling its profits. Abritel vient de mettre en place un nouveau tri ou filtre pour nos clients. le sondage consiste à savoir si la fréquentation de votre (vos) annone(s) à augmenté suite à la mise en place de ce filtre par défaut dans les recherches.

OUI: elle a augmenté et mon annonce est mieux positionnée

NON: elle a diminué et mon annonce est moins bien positionnée

How many times a day is your listing "viewed"?

While we are all concerned on how our inquiries have dropped significantly it makes me now wonder how many times a day is my listing being viewed by someone. With this in mind I did a weeks check and averaged out to about 40ish views a day. How about the rest of you!?

If you clean or do maintenance work at your properties, include that in your total.

Not Getting Security Deposit

I am dealing with a home owner who is refusing to refund my security deposit. After reading previous reviews for her properties, this seems to be her MO. She responds the the reviews by calling the reviewers liars or saying that they destroyed her property. She refuses to refund me because I gave her a bad and TRUE review on her posting. I have an open complaint with HomeAway, but she has since padded her reviews with fake reviews. One is obviously fake because the check-in date is during our stay. I have documented all email correspondence where she threatened me for submitting a bad review. HELP!

How often do we receive and digest honest feedback? It's difficult in any industry, let alone real estate. Unlike other jobs, real estate agents rarely have a "boss" giving yearly performance reviews. Sure, you have sales numbers to reflect upon -- and they do say a lot about your effectiveness as a salesperson -- but they don't tell the whole story.

Is it right to ignore these ?If not what would be do?
